Seth Templeton Finishes Main Event Flight A as the Chip Leader

The first flight of the APT Sarasota Main Event is in the books. Of the total 109 entries, 16 players are advancing to Day 2 on Sunday. Flight A played 13 full levels and seven minutes of Level 14 when the bubble bursted.

Seth Templeton (pictured) chipped up gradually most of the day and took the chip lead late in the night. He finished Day 1A as the chip leader with 234,000. David Steves finished not far behind him with a count of 229,900.

Some other familiar faces advancing from this flight include America Poker Tour's very own Stan Jablonski, who bagged 165,300 after doubling up with trip queens against Lyle Vincent's pocket aces shortly before play concluded for the night. John Racener also made it through with a respectable stack of 150,200. Like Jablonski, Racener got a key double up late in the night when his pocket aces held up against the pocket kings of Shari Amato.

Some friends who did not make it through the flight today were Roger Martin, Vanessa Rousso, Mike Raimon, Wally Maddah, Blair Miller, and RJ Sullivan. Fortunately, those who busted today or did not play today have two more flights they can get in, tomorrow at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.

The 16 Flight A survivors will join those who make it through Flights B and C tomorrow for a Day 2 restart on Sunday at 1 p.m.
