Mark Goulding Takes Second in APT Sarasota Main Event

Mark Goulding battled for quite some time with John Racener heads up. He got short-stacked and doubled up with A-Q all in for 1,335,000 against Racener's pocket kings when he turned Broadway on a board of J-T-3-K-7.

Goulding was out a little while later though. He lost most of his chips with KcKc against Racener's KcKc. Racener raised to 130,000 on the button, Goulding made it 340,000 in the big blind, and Racener called.

The flop was KcKcKc and Goulding bet 400,000. Racener called and the turn was the Kc. Goulding announced he was all in and Racener quickly called, showing Goulding the bad news. Racener was well ahead with top two pair and Goulding needed a nine to beat him. The Kc wasn't enough, and Goulding lost all but 155,000 of his chips to Racener in that hand. He was all in the next hand and lost the rest.

Goulding takes home $36,541 for his second place finish in the APT Sarasota Main Event. Not bad for a Dental student.
