John Racener Wins America's Poker Tour Sarasota for $59,258!


Florida poker pro John Racener just took down the second-ever America's Poker Tour Main Event at One Eyed Jacks poker room at the Sarasota Kennel Club, not far from his hometown of Tampa, Florida. He beat out a field of 255 entries to win here on Day 2. Racener, who has over $9 million in tournament winnings to his credit, including a second place finish in the 2010 WSOP Main Event, now adds a score of $59,258 in addition to a $3,000 Championship package courtesy of America's Poker Tour.

Racener came into the day 13th in chips and hovered around average or just below average for most of the day. He got a key double up with two tables left against Seth Templeton when he turned the nut flush against Templeton's flopped set of threes and held up. After that, he didn't get involved in many pots and his stack steadily dwindled. Racener went into the final table as one of three short stacks with around 11 big blinds. He managed to stick around and then dominate three-handed though, and emerged victorious.
