Mark Goulding Doubles Through Vanessa Rousso


In a blind versus blind confrontation, Mark Goulding limped in the small blind and Vanessa Rousso raised to 23,000 in the big blind. Goulding made it 66,000 and Rousso called.

They saw a flop of KcKcKc and Goulding bet out 45,000. Rousso announced all in and had Goulding covered. Goulding called and they showed down.

Goulding's pocket aces were ahead of Rousso's KcKc for a pair of eights and a gut-shot straight draw. The board ran out Kc on the turn and Kc on the river, and Goulding's aces were good for the double up.

There's a big crowd gathering around the middle table, what say we all go over and see what's taking place. Dan Loizzo makes it 20,00, then it is Ben Freeman from the SB making it 70,000 to go. Loizzo hesitates, sees with a call both players are going to have equal stacks a bit less than what's going to be in the pot. Yep, pretty good chance the chips get in the middle at some point in the hand if he calls. Loizzo finds a call, then both players check the J-5-3 flop. Freeman moves all in on the 8 turn and Loizzo slips in to the tank, weighing his potions. the dealer counts out the stack, 124,000, and Loizzo looks to be almost exactly the same. He finds the call, sees turn over AK .. and Loizzo shows QJ. The Jack holds and Loizzo has him covered by less than one SB. Freeman finishes 16th, cashing for $2,617. Loizzo moves to 400,000.
