Daren Stabinski Takes a Couple Pots


Daren Stabinski (pictured, left) just won two hands in a row.

In the first hand, there was a raise to 11,000, he called on the button, and John Racener called in the big blind. On the Q-J-2 flop, it checked to Stabinski and he bet 17,000. Racener called and the other player folded. Both players checked the Kc turn and on the Kc river, Racener checked, Stabinski bet 22,000, and Racener let it go.

The very next hand, Stabinski raised in the cutoff, Steve Allen (pictured, right) three-bet on the button, and Stabinski called. They checked the KcKcKc flop and the Kc turn. On the Kc river, Stabinski bet 22,000 and Allen called.

Stabinski showed KcKc for two pair, jacks and nines, and took down the pot.

There's a big crowd gathering around the middle table, what say we all go over and see what's taking place. Look, there's a bunch of players with all their stacks in the middle, and most of them are standing up behind their chairs. Lucky Loizzo

Dan Loizzo makes it 20,00, then it is Ben Freeman from the SB making it 70,000 to go. Loizzo hesitates, sees with a call both players are going to have equal stacks a bit less than what's going to be in the pot. Yep, pretty good chance the chips get in the middle at some point in the hand if he calls. Loizzo finds a call, then both players check the J-5-3 flop. Freeman moves all in on the 8 turn and Loizzo slips in to the tank, weighing his potions. the dealer counts out the stack, 124,000, and Loizzo looks to be almost exactly the same. He finds the call, sees turn over AK .. and Loizzo shows QJ. The Jack holds and Loizzo has him covered by less than one SB. Freeman finishes 16th, cashing for $2,617. Loizzo moves to 400,000.
