The Brakes, They Have Been Applied

It was inevitable in the final flight that, at some point, players would slow down, realize there's no more chances to buy in, and milk whatever chips they have to slip in to Day 2 and a chance at the money.

The breaks came on here a few hands before Level 14 started. Play has slowed considerably, the betting more measured, fewer players in each pot.

Lena Zhao, however, continues to increase her chiplead, turning Broadway after an all-clubs flop where she had no clubs. The board paired on the river, giving lots of ways for her Broadway to be 2nd or 3rd best. It held, though, and she moved to 260,000.
